Blood Brothers
is a hugely popular play written by Willy Russell. It tells the tale of
twin brothers separated at birth but who remain inextricably linked. It
looks at the differences and conflicts of their upbringings, their
relationships with each other and with their real and adopted mothers.
It is fast-moving and perceptive, funny yet ultimately tragic. This is
not the West End musical version (as the rights are unavailable) but the
original play which includes some songs.
The
Mother (Mrs Johnston), their real
mother
Mrs
Lyons, who adopts Eddie

Eddie,Mickey and
Linda progress from the age of 7 to young adulthood but the playing

Mrs Johnstone and
Mrs Lyons are in their thirties/forties but Mrs Johnstone looks older
than her years.
The other
characters range from children to adults but are all played by adults.
Mrs Lyons and
Eddie are ‘posh’ but the other characters should be Liverpudlian if
possible.
Some of the parts
may be doubled up.
